Windows 10 Daily phishing scams in Edge after latest Windows 10 update

I installed (was not allowed to decline) the latest Windows 10 update and since then Edge is locked up at least once a day with a phishing scam. They've moved from the emergency alert about my computer being infected to an offer for a free iPhone from Microsoft (yes, an iPhone from Microsoft).

According to virus scans, there is no malware on the machine.

Sometimes the scams pop up when I navigate to a new page, and sometimes they pop up while Edge is sitting idle. I have to kill Edge via TM or sometimes I can open a new instance of Edge, close the affected instance, and then I can open Edge again without the scam.
